PAYMENT_REQUIRED

What triggered it

PAYMENT_REQUIRED (HTTP 402) means the action you tried needs an active paid plan, and your account is currently:

• Not on a plan — no plan has been activated on this account.
• Past due — your card was declined and the plan is on hold until the card is updated.
• Cancelled — you cancelled and the billing window ended.

Your existing bots are fine

Even if you’re past-due or cancelled, bots and servers you already set up keep running for the remainder of the paid window. PAYMENT_REQUIRED only blocks new setups, changes or paid features.

What to try

1. Check your plan. Plans are a custom Discord bot (US$15/mo), a Minecraft Java server (US$10/mo) or the AI helper with a bot and a server included (US$25/mo). See Plans & pricing.

2. Update your payment method. If your card was declined, the billing page shows a banner — update the card and the plan resumes within about 30 seconds of the next Stripe webhook.

3. Restart a cancelled plan. Click Re-subscribe on the billing page. Your old projects are waiting for you.

When to contact support

If you’re seeing PAYMENT_REQUIRED but you have an active plan showing in the billing page:

• Email support@vibecord.dev with your account email and a screenshot of both the error AND the billing page
• Drop a note in Discord with the same info

This is usually a webhook-timing race — Stripe paid us, the backend hasn’t seen the event yet. Support can manually re-fire the webhook if the automated retry does not catch up.
